How do we know if we need office chair gas cylinder repair?
Your chair height is adjusted and set in place by the gas cylinder located inside the column beneath the seat. You activate this cylinder with the lever that extends outward to the side. When a cylinder begins to fail, the seat will begin to slowly drop on its own throughout the course of the day. When the cylinder completely fails, the seat drops to its lowest possible position. While sometimes levers freeze or break, normally unstable chair height is caused by a malfunctioning cylinder.
Isn’t it cheaper to buy a new office chair?
No. While gas cylinders are technically mechanical devices, they are not more expensive than the chair as a whole. Most are relatively inexpensive on the wholesale market, and many are sold online at retail costs that are much higher than Viper’s but still affordable to many end users. It is really rare that a cylinder or cylinder column to be that expensive, and if it is, the chair is even more expensive.
Is office char gas cylinder repair covered under warranty?
All chairs come with some kind of manufacturer’s warranty. A few manufacturers offer limited repair services under warranty if you send the product back to the factory. Most, however, simply warranty the chair for life and offer you a replacement, or they provide replacement parts. We cannot tell you exactly what kind of warranty options you have until we know who the manufacturer of your chair is and when you purchased the chair.
Do we need to bring you the chairs?
No. We have our own trucks, and we will pick up your chairs from your office to take to our factory. When repairs are complete, we will return your chairs and inspect them onsite before we leave.
Do you provide loaner chairs?
Yes. We cannot guarantee this, but we normally have temporary seating options we can lend you while we work on your office chairs.
How long does it take to repair the gas cylinder in an office chair?
The work itself goes pretty quickly once we get the parts in stock. Some chair manufacturers respond more quickly than others when we requisition replacement components. We cannot predict in advance how long your office chair gas cylinder repair will take. However, once we contact the manufacturer, we can give you an ETA to repair completion and a final quote based upon that estimate.
